I am excited about music again. Lady Gaga has proven to me that music is in fact not dead as I had previously thought. Thank you for bringing back the Music Video as an artform and making music mix with outrageous fashion as it always should.

Blogging for fun.
I'm watching The Biggest Loser right now. I love the show. It reminds me constantly of why I watch my weight. I see how much work these people put in week after week to just lose a few pounds. They are trying to undo decades of abuse to their bodies within a 3 month show. Amazing! I step on a scale nearly every single day. Some of these contestants haven't stepped on a scale in years, many of them say that home scales cannot go high enough to report their weight. Noodles and I are always running, biking, and now, playing volleyball together. Be active, you're going to enjoy life more.

Volleyball in a Sandstorm

Noodles and I set out today to get some beach volleyball practice in. We were ready! Too bad the wind was so strong that by the time we got to the beach, our legs and arms and faces felt like we were being sandblasted. No worries. We turned around, got some coffee and headed back home. At least we made an effort!

Training Run for the LA Marathon
I went for a great run yesterday in training for the LA Marathon. Twenty-two (22) miles of a tour of Los Angeles. We started in Chinatown at the main gate:
We turned right at the light and went through some shady neighborhoods before running through Silver Lake and then into Hollywood. Man, nobody outside of the LA area ever knows how dirty Hollywood really and truly is. The sign is about the only clean thing about this town.

Having weaved through the denizens and tourists of Hollywood, we continued through West Hollywood and down Sunset Blvd towards Beverly Hills. When we hit the intersection of Sunset and La Cienega, the Heavens opened up and within 2 minutes, our comfortable run through LA became a rain soaked trudge through shallow rivers flowing down sidewalks. Every intersection became a challenge of jumping over fast flowing streams of runoff, while avoiding cars that wouldn't dream of anyone being a pedestrian in rain suited for Noah's Ark. For about 5 of the 22 miles, we ran in this rain. The rest of the run was uncomfortable. We ran down Rodeo Drive to Wilshire Blvd, hit the Wilshire/Santa Monica intersection and turned around. What a run! I'll be ready to smash my original marathon time of 4:08 I logged in the Palos Verdes marathon in 2009. I'm shooting for 3 1/2 hours. Wish me luck.
